3M Network Operations
3M™ Network Operations Manager (NOM) is
a web-enabled software service that allows secure, remote
monitoring, management and maintenance of your entire
digital signage network and computing
infrastructure.

Network Operations Manager is comprised of two basic
components:
The NOM Agent installs on each player PC and/or network
server to collect and report on status, and execute remote
command and control. Non-PC devices such as routers, firewalls,
and printers are monitored using SNMP.
The NOM Web Portal is the interface and control panel
for all network devices and is accessible via any
internet-enabled computer.
NOM Agents are remotely installed and configured
by 3M as part of your NOM subscription. The Agent
monitors all hardware, software and activity on the player
PC, not just those associated with your digital
signage. The agent reports to, and gets instructions from,
the 3M NOM server.
Like 3MDS Network Edition Software, the
Agent uses an outbound only Port 80 (http), allowing it
to operate
securely through firewalls and the internet. For additional
security, the Agent encrypts all messages and
invokes SSL for remote control sessions.
The Web Portal can be configured to use
Port 80 (http) or 443 (https).
